New bike detours near Segundo, Regan residence halls as Big Shift construction continues
Closures planned April 1 to May 15
Portions of Sprocket Bikeway near the Segundo and Regan residence halls, adjacent to the ARC parking lot, will be closed April 1 through May 15, 2026.

To accommodate Big Shift construction near Regan, portions of Sprocket Bikeway will be closed to bicycles, scooters and other micromobility vehicles. Closures include
- Portions of Sprocket Bikeway around the ARC parking lot near the Segundo Dining Commons and the Student Housing Administration Building
- The bike traffic circle between Segundo and Regan
- The western loop of Regan Hall Circle
Safety Features
Lane Closure
To improve safety at the ARC parking lot entrance—where vehicle, pedestrian, and bike traffic intersect—the leftmost vehicle lane will be temporarily closed while detours are in place.
Traffic Guides
Staff will be stationed near the Sprocket Bikeway and Regan Hall construction areas during the first several days of the closure to help direct traffic.
Ongoing detours
A portion of California Avenue between North Quad and Regan Hall Circle is also closed to bike and vehicular traffic to accommodate ongoing construction near Cruess Hall. This closure is expected to conclude in April.
